The history of African Americans is
closely linked to the advancement of human rights in the
society of the country. In the arts, especially in music
and cinema, African Americans have won increasingly
prominent positions both front and behind the cameras.
It does not mean that these achievements were
easy, but today there are Oscar nominations and
other cinema prizes for them.
